Mods and Rockers Joins the Shine Media PR Team!

For Immediate Release

Mods & Rockers launches an exclusive line of Glam rock inspired luxury evening Handbags.

The former Judith Leiber design team is reinventing the evening handbag space with mods & rockers, an innovative collection of couture handbags that are a glamorous mix of rock and roll edge and modern sophistication.

NEW YORK — mods & rockers is an electrifying new line of prestige handbags catered to chic urbane women who crave statement-making accessories to carry them from the gallery to a night on the town in style.

The luxurious label features exquisitely handcrafted handbags that are an explosion of dramatic stud detailing, glamorous Swarovski crystals and high quality Italian leathers and exotic skins ranging from lavish python to alluring viper.

Mods & Rockers was established in 2011 by Geraldine Morley and Yana Ostrova, two fashion industry executives who met during their prolific tenure the legendary accessories house, Judith Leiber where Geraldine held the title of creative designer and Yana held the post as design director.

After working together for many years at Leiber and running their own successful consulting firm, the duo realized that the selection of evening bags was scarce. The market was either filled with very expensive evening bags that were often matronly or extremely trendy and not well made. They decided to fill this niche and launched their own handbag label, mods & rockers to give style conscious women another option, playful and hip evening bags that are of couture quality.

The name Mods & Rockers stems from the British subcultures of 60’s. The “rockers” would listen to rock and roll, wear leather jackets and studs and ride motorcycles while the “mods” wore slim fitting suits, drove scooters and preferred rhythm and blues.

Mods & Rockers is a chic mélange combining the edge of the “rockers” with the sophistication of the “mods” envisioned for today’s fashionable cosmopolitan woman. The brand’s other inspirations include modern art especially the work of Yayoi Kusama and Jenny Holzer and 60’s icons including Twiggy and Emma Peal.

Just one year since the brand’s launch, Mods & Rockers has already started to make waves in the fashion world garnering a recent editorial in WWD. The line offers a full range of evening bags from novelty minaudieres to handbags ranging from $595–$2295 USD.
