Kat Von D Dives Into Spring 2012 with “Treasure Coast”

New York, NY – Internationally known artist, author and celebrity Kat Von D has created her Spring 2012 apparel collection, inspired by the treasures that time forgot. From edges fringed with braid and sun-bleached shoulders of shrunken velveteen jackets, to sheer tops bursting with sequins in dirty golds and oxidized coppers, this collection offers consumers a clandestine luxury waiting to be uncovered.

The Kat Von D Los Angeles brand is known for creating signature pieces with eye-popping statement details. This season breaks the spring mold by incorporating never-before-seen silhouettes offset by bold neutrals and regal brights.

The collection features a wide variety of pieces that are instant staples in any wardrobe. Neutral statement pieces like cropped dinner jackets and gauzy off-the-shoulder shirts are juxtaposed by vibrant maxi dresses, flocked skirts and gilded cocktail wear. “My customer is looking for pieces that can mesh easily with their personal style,” said Von D. “It was important that we use textures and fabrics that will not only feel luxurious but also become treasures in their own right.”

Fabrics like luxurious European leathers, silken mesh and delicate jersey reveal a subtle balance in the substantiality of the pieces from Spring 2012. More revealing than the choice in textiles is the sincere attention to detail that catapults this collection ahead of the competition. Treatments like deliberately knotted knitwear, architectural cropping and infinity belting immediately grab the consumer’s attention by offering unique.

About the Brand: Launched in early 2011, the Kat Von D Los Angeles collection is in its second season in the market. The collection is currently sold in over 100 boutiques nationally with plans to quickly expand internationally as well as into key national accounts.
